This book is a translation of tune conferences preached by Fr. Adrien Duval, former Superior General of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, in the Basilica of Annecy. Rev. Fr. Gilbert Volery, secretary to the Major Superiors Conference of England had translated them into English. The text of this translation was, in a number of places, too difficult for the Indian readers to understand. So are - translation of the Conferences was made for which the original French text and Fr. V o l e t s translation were made use of. The language and the style of the translated texts of the Conferences were modified by the scholastics of Fransalian Seminary, Poona, except the fourth conference which was rendered into English by Fr. Perry Da Silva, Rector, Fransalian Seminary. The new version was compared with the original French text and necessary modifications and corrections were made. Thus the final text of the present edition was made.
