SALESIAN LITERATURE

SFS and the Bible

Anthony R. Ceresko, O.S.F.S.

ISBN: 81-85376-68-9

The nine articles collected in this book study the writings and doctrine of St. Francis de Sales, and most of the articles examine in particular the relationship of Francis' work to the Bible. Further, Fr. Ceresko employs approaches developed in the modern study of the Bible to uncover the relevance for the reader today of the teachings of this great saint.

The first four chapters were originally prepared as talks for seminars on Salesian spirituality, sponsored by the Indian Institute of Spirituality, in Bangalore, India (Chaps. II, III, IV), and by the De Sales Resource Center, in the U.S.A. (Chap. I). Chapter I, especially, retains the style of an oral presentation.
